Fender's top end guitars are manufactured in the U.S., Japan, and Mexico and are made with much better materials, hardware and electronic components installed than Squiers made in China. However, it is true that Squiers by Fender are good student guitars and are most generally of medium quality. Nothing wrong with a Squier, but lets face it.

1. Mar 27, 2013 I recently found a Fender Strat in a local pawnshop. It has a Chinese sn and a Fender neck plate. It is a tinted, quartered neck. Then body is solid mahogany and a reddish stain, ala a Gibson SG. It’s really heavy (way more than a normal Strat) and is in HSH configuration with a two bolt trem.
